Considering online courses at NWCCD? Take 10-20 minutes to complete the READI assessment. READI is a Web-based assessment tool for determining students' level of readiness for taking online or hybrid courses.

When logging in:

Username = nwccd

Password = nwccd

Take the READI Assessment
 

Read the welcome letter sent to each online student.

   
 

1. Search for the course(s) you are interested in. 

Search the WebAdvisor course schedule site by clicking the Students link and then Search for Sections. Once on the Search for Sections page, select the Location of Distance Learning and make any other selections including searching by course title or instructor and clicking Submit.

 

The Tuition and Fees page also has information on room and board costs.

   
 

2. Apply online to Sheridan College or Gillette College. 

If you are a degree/certificate-seeking student or taking a class for credit, apply to Sheridan College or Gillette College online.

If special admissions criteria exists for your program, you will need to follow those specific program guidelines in addition to the application and admission.
   
 

3. You are admitted, what's next?

 

Once you have completed the online application for admission, please access either the Sheridan College or Gillette College What's Next? pages for information relating to financial aid, costs, placement exams, costs, and more.

   
  4. Create your MyCollege Account.
   
  Once you have enrolled in one or more classes at NWCCD, you will need to create your MyCollege account. Creating your MyCollege account allows you to access such tools as Blackboard, Microsoft Live@edu e-mail, and WebAdvisor. You will not be able to log into Blackboard until you have a username and password.
 

5.  Complete an orientation to online learning.

 

Whether you are new to or have taken online classes, an orientation to online learning will provide you with useful information, tutorials, and self-assessment tools that will help you succeed in an online or hybrid course. NWCCD offers three (3) options for you to choose from depending on your experience and comfort level with online learning.

   
 

6. Purchase your textbook(s).

 

Sheridan College and Gillette College each have their own online and on-site bookstores for course textbooks, software and supplies. For convenience, students taking multiple online courses can choose one bookstore for their primary point of contact.

   
 

7. Log into Blackboard and access your class(es)
(Courses will not be visible until the first day of classes.)

 

On the first day of regularly scheduled classes, you will be able to log into Blackboard and see your courses.
